Dust Emission Monitors

Filter-Tex Media is an authorised distributor of all Goyen particulate emission monitors which feature AC Tribo Electric Technology.

Triboelectric technology means that the monitor operates on the principle of electrical charge transfer by collision. The dust travelling in the air steam collects an electrical charge by colliding with the duct, filter bags, dampers and even the gas. The particulate charge induces a current in the emission monitor’s probe which is amplified, filtered and then processed.

Triboelectric monitors are one of the best methods of particulate flow monitoring. Triboelectric monitors can detect very low dust concentration in fixed velocity dust arrestment plant applications, they have a wide detection range, have consistent and accurate results, are easy to install and need no ongoing maintenance such as cleaning. Triboelectric monitors can be installed when system sensitivity is as low as 1.0mg/m3 and particulate sizes are as low as 5 micron.

Goyen emission monitors can be used in a wide range of applications including:

  • Milk Powder
  • Foundries
  • Tobacco
  • Aluminum Smelting

    Product Range

Filter-Tex Media carry the full range of Goyen emission monitors which suit virtually any application, with outputs in the most popular formats: 4-20mA, 0-10VDC. RS232 (continuous ASCII data) and RS485 (Modbus compatible network). Both RS232 and RS485 formats allow the data to be acquired and logged by a personal computer at minimum cost, the RS485 format in particular supporting up to 29 emission monitors or other devices on each network.

    EMS6 Network Compatible Emission Monitor

The EMS6 offers users a speedy and simple method of interacting directly with remotely located particulate monitoring devices. This means that up to 29 devices can be installed without the need for a proprietary processing box between the actual sensor and the PC or PLC. This facilitates the monitoring of multiple baghouses more conveniently and at significant cost savings.

    Features
    • Network compatible for efficient, cost effective monitoring of up to 29 devices per network.
    • Operated via PC using Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 compatible Goyen “Connect” software.
    • All data easily read by Microsoft Excel and other databases or spreadsheets.
    • Compatible with major SCADA/CITECT SCADA software systems either directly (MODBUS) or via DDE.
    • Continuously monitors emissions and reports as numerical trend graph data.
    • Capable of identifying bag row failure in a multiple bag system using PLC or SCADA Systems.
    • Self Calibrating .
    • 4 Alarm levels.
    • Settable Averages.
    • Internal scaling.
    • Supports Isokinetic testing.

    EMP5 Emission Monitor

The EMP5 measures the movement of solids past a stationary probe and converts this data into an output signal suitable for triggering alarms or for recording flow rates of particulate. The EMP5 is particularly good for broken bag detection and for monitoring solid waste, product transportation or factory dust particulate levels.

    Features

    • All features programmable at the control box.
    • Bar graph 0-100% display.
    • Standard outputs include relay, 0-10VDC, 4-20mA.
    • Normal an high temperature versions.
    • Standard electronics module with optional probe lengths.
    • Simple installation and adjustment.
    • Lightweight and compact.
    • Set alarm trip point on bar graph.
    • Alarm time delay (0-18 seconds)
    • Two levels of sensitivity adjustment.

    BBD5 Broken Bag Detector

The BBD works on the same principles as the EMS probes. The basic function of the BBD probe is to warn operators that emissions have exceeded the set level. Relay trip level settings can be made on the bargraph and relay output will trigger an alarm should emission exceed that level. No real time record of emissions is possible with this model.

    Features

    • Normal and high temperature versions.
    • Standard electronics module with optional probe lengths.
    • Simple installation and adjustment procedures.
    • Lighweight and compact.
